Formation and play planning for every sport and stage — built by one person, for everyone.
My PlayMap started as a simple idea: a more elegant, digital way to map out dance formations. Paper and pen work fine — but having a dedicated tool that lives on your phone, travels with you, and lets you adjust on the fly felt like a natural convenience worth building.
Once the initial app existed for dance, expanding it to other sports was a straightforward choice. Coaches, cheer teams, football coordinators, soccer managers — anyone planning movement on a field or stage could benefit from the same kind of tool. So why not make it available to everyone?
My PlayMap is a passion project, not a startup. It's built and maintained by one person learning as they go — and that's exactly how it's meant to feel: useful, unpretentious, and always improving.
Still stuck? Use the Roadmap to submit a bug report — contact details are in progress and will be updated soon.
Tap ⚙ Settings in the sidebar (or the bottom bar on mobile) to adjust how the app looks and behaves for your sport. Settings are saved per-sport, so your football setup won't interfere with your dance setup.
No. The full design tool works right in your browser without any account. Your plays are saved locally in your browser's storage.
An account is only needed if you want to save plays to the cloud and access them across multiple devices.
The browser-only experience is free and will stay free. If you use My PlayMap without an account, it costs nothing.
Cloud storage is currently free too. However, hosting and storage come with real costs. A paid tier for cloud features may be introduced in the future — but we'll always be upfront and give advance notice. See our Terms for more detail.
My PlayMap currently supports: Dance, Cheer, Football, Soccer, Basketball, and an "Other" field type that can be customised for almost anything else.
More sports may be added over time. Got a request? Vote on the roadmap.
If you use the app without an account, your data never leaves your device.
If you use an account, your plays are stored securely via Supabase. We don't sell your data or share it with third parties. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
If you're using My PlayMap without an account, your plays are stored in your browser's local storage. Clearing your browser data will delete them.
Creating a free account and saving to the cloud protects your plays from this — they'll be there on any device.
Yes — My PlayMap is designed to work on phones and tablets as well as desktop. For sports with a vertical field (football, soccer, basketball), try enabling the vertical field orientation in Settings for a better portrait experience.
Yes. My PlayMap lets you export your plays as images or PDF — look for the Export buttons in the sidebar. PDF export uses landscape format for easy printing.
Account deletion support is coming soon. In the meantime, use the Roadmap to submit a request and we'll action it.
My PlayMap is a passion project, built by one person as a way to learn — web development, backend infrastructure, debugging, and everything in between.
AI tools were used throughout the process. From writing and refining code, to troubleshooting bugs, to drafting the very page you're reading now — AI assistance played a meaningful role. That's not something to hide. It's part of how solo developers can build things that would otherwise require a full team.
The ideas, decisions, and direction behind My PlayMap are human. The execution was a collaboration between a person learning something new and tools that helped make it possible.
Why might cloud features become paid? Running an app isn't free. Server costs, database hosting, and bandwidth add up as more people use My PlayMap. The browser-only experience will always be free. But if cloud storage reaches a point where it can't be sustainably offered for free, a paid plan may be introduced. We'll give plenty of notice and handle it fairly.
